Does anyone know if the ozone produced by a these types of purifiers can be
bad for a parrot. I have a Surround Air purifier in a room that's a little
over 400 sf. I know it produces ozone at safe levels to humans but I'll like
to know what it can do to parrots.

TIA

Not specific to parrots but contains interesting information just the same.

I wondered about that myself until a month ago when I started buying
ionizers. Two from Radio Shack and then one from Sharper Image. I've used
both in the parrot room, currently using the larger Sharper Image unit now.
It 'does' put out a little Ozone , which is the sweet smell (I call it
sweet, I like it). I still have the large hepa filters in there to suck in
the down and feathers,etc.. although they are so noisy in comparison.
Anyway, these have been with the birds for over a month and no problems.
