If your friend took these birds to a vet within the 5 day period of
time, then he can get a refund or replacement from them.
Here's their bird guarantee, taken from their web site.
I might also add, that I have never done any business with them, so I
don't know how difficult it might be to uphold them to this guarantee.

Florida Bird Ranch Inc. warrants that, at the time of purchase, the
bird(s) invoiced are in good health. The BUYER is encouraged to have
the bird(s) examined by a veterinarian of their choice within 5
business days of purchase. If during this 5 day period the bird(s) are
found to have a condition that affects their health or well-being as
determined by the examining veterinarian, this company agrees to it's
discretion, to either refund the full purchase price excluding
shipping or exchange for same bird(s).

I told him that and he said he did but they will not return his calls nor
retun his emails, he was suppose to get 2 proven pairs of Solomon Islands,
and got 1 pair with the male being a feather picker and the other being a
VOSMARIE PAIR with the Female having Klebsiella pneumoniae and E. Coli. sad
huh...
