Bird flu

Anybody have any information on this "bird flu" in the chickens in Asia & Indonesia? How much danger to parrots?

One of my love bird died yesterday. Couldnt find the reason. how? M
looking for some hint if there are any medicines known to any person
so that I should take care when i bring new pair of birds this time.
My town lacks qualified vets especially for birds.

Scrub everything thoroughly with bleach and water.  Scrub:
cage
toys
dishes
perches
walls
floors

Then wait a few months before bringing a new bird home.  This may be greater
precautions than necessary, but it is what I would do.

Its the Avian Flu if you want to google it.  Its dangerous to parrots, yes,
they can catch it.  Its not in the US (yet), I understand there is a vaccine
for it overseas (from the US) but I don't know anything more definite about
the vaccine other than the rumors that it was available.  To be honest
though, if your not raising chickens, working on a chicken farm or living
near/next to one I'd use standard bio hazard precautions (i.e.: wash your
hands a lot, change clothes after playing with chickens) and common sense
for now.

Oh, and in case you want to get a tin foil hat, its known to jump species
and can be caught by people.
