MacDaddy has been driving my poor tiels absolutely crazy, so I finally went
out and picked up a little budgie buddy for him.

The new bird is very young, very adorable, and very scared.   Poor thing.  I
had to clip it's wings before even trying to get it into the cage, and I'm
sure it's very stressed out.  Doesn't have a clue what step up means, and
will be a challenge, I'll bet.  The sign called it a 'rare
parakeet'...LOL...but there were 10 in the cage so it can't be *that* rare.

Now I have to start thinking of names.  Still wanna call at least one of my
pets Dammit.  Come here Dammit, go in your cage Dammit.  LOL

Laurie - who'll now be moving 4 birds, a cat and a dog to Florida...yes, I'm
a glutton for punishment

ROFL  so name the budgie Dammit!  Might be more suited to a dog, though.  I
sure spent enough time walking mine in the rain saying, "Just GO, Dammit!"

My son used to have a tame peach faced lovebird which he named' bogey'
(booger to Americans). When I asked why, he said, "it's green and is
stuck to my finger!" ewwww.

One of my coworkers used to own a monkey which she named
"Dammit".

I think it's the best pet name ever.

I've always thought so too.  But this budgie is such a quiet little thing it
just doesn't fit right now.  But I'm sure he/she is just settling in and
would live up to the name in no time!  Besides...I've got to get away from
the 'M' names!  I didn't do it on purpose, it just happened, But 3M's is
enough.

It's a PetSmart bird, wild and not at all hand-tamed ...but after working
with him a little today, got him to sit on my finger and do some laddering.
Still won't step up from the cage or the floor yet.  But I'm in love
already!

Hell you're well on the way. It should not take long with lots of love.

One of my dogs thinks her name is "Shithead," cause she comes running to me
with her tail a waggin'. :)

LOL, reminds me of that Bill Cosby line he did. "I grew up thinking my name
was goddamnit, because that's what my father called me all the time".
