I bought a bag of basswood scraps at Michael's craft store. Basswood
is used by wood carvers and for crafts. Do you think this has any
toxic chemical treatments in it? I made a ladder out of the scraps and
my Cockatiel is chewing it up. I glued the pieces with tacky glue,
which is a thick white glue used for crafts. That's not toxic is it?

You need to be praying that it isn't I suppose since you have already
given it to your bird and it has been chewing it. Generally, a good idea
is to *first* make sure it isn't poisonous, and *then* give it to your
bird.

Molly,
This will probably knock you over, but *this time* I'm inclined to agree
with you!
If the OP used Mighty Tacky Glue, it is indeed nontoxic.

Others, however, are toxic.
