I live in the mid-southern U.S.  This time of year (and in the Fall) when
the temperatures are in the 50's (Farenheit) at night, I like to sleep with
my windows open.  But I don't want Peaches to get cold.  I do cover her cage
at night.  Will she be fine with the cooler temp?  Or should I move her cage
to a room towards the front of the house where the cooler air will not waft
in?  She's in the living room but I leave my bedroom door open so the cat
can wander.

Jill,
Just be sure that she's not in any kind of draft--no matter how slight.
We turn our temps down at night, to 68, cover the birds (who have their
snuggly tents), and they are fine.

Thank you.  I'm careful she's not in a breeze.  She's still fluffing up and
grinding her beak when I sing my silly songs to her.  Sometimes she chirps
along.  The manzanita wood perch just arrived and I fastened it to the
cage... she's cocking her head at it, thinking hmmm, what's that thing?

At least she didn't spread her wings and hiss at it, like Moki did his
exercise wheel!

I too sleep with my windows open and it  gets down to minus 5 celcius
here and I wouldn't have any of my birds in my bedroom, a/ cos I don't
think it is healthy for me to breath in feather dust while I sleep, and
b/ cos it would be too cold or draughty.
The drop in temperatrure from heated during the day to cold at night
might cause problems. I would say keep her in another room way out of
the line of any draughts.

During the day I am not constantly in one room, in fact not always
indoors, and I have a window or door open. At night I would be in the
room with my body's defences on low too. Plus the poor bird would freeze
to death hehe.

As long as you keep them out of drafts, most birds are pretty tough
when it comes to temperatures. I doubt it going to bother her.
