Help.....
I can't find any plastic egg crate for building my trickle filter.
I'd gladly paypal some cash to someone that would ship me some.  I need two
pieces, 12 in. x 12 in. each.

Have you tried going to a hardware store and looking in the fluorescent
fixture diffuser isle? The diffusers are usually 2'x4' (or 2'x2') to go
over standard ceiling light fixtures in offices. There is one diffuser
that is eggcrate (as opposed to the textured plastic many offices use),
but if you ask most hardware employees where the eggcrate is, they won't
have a clue. Ask instead where the diffusers for ceiling lights. Should
cost less than $10US for a 2'x4' piece.

And if you go in to the hardware store like I do, your going to find this
item with a corner missing, and convince the store clerks you are doing them
a favour by taking there garbage for a minimal charge... I think I paid $3
for my piece, worked nice as a tank divider as well..

heh heh, broken corner mark-down.  I'll have to watch for that.  The part
number is SKU# A110-881 at Home Depot, if that helps.

It also works well to keep large fish from exposing the undergravel plates.
Put heavy rocks on top of it, - presto ! Cichlid - proof UGF .
