I have a pair of Malawis which I see everywhere being sold as red zebras.
When I went to some sites online to get more info on these fish, the red
zebras I found did not look like what I have. My "red zebras" are all
orange with no spots or blotches. The ps. estherae which I found in the
indexes I checked ( FishBase, Master index of Freshwater fishes to name a
couple) showed the male as blue, the female orange, as well as a spotted
variety. Is this simply an all orange morph (my guess) of the ps. estherae
or some other species, or maybe a hybrid?

thanks,
Mark

Try doing a search on Metriaclima estherae. There are different geographical
variants. There are species out there that are an orangish solid color for
both males and females.
