Same thing happened to me with a pair of Jewels.

Of course fish have memory. We Oscar keepers know that for sure -- when
I sit at my aquarium they try to get through the glass to get to me,
but if anyone else sits there they just turn up their noses. --Mark

Sure they do, but its not like ours, theirs is more selective. Like who
feeds them.....lol.

yeah, fish have memory.

eg. my new guppies (cheers to mark for the suggestion) know when the
lights go on to go to the surface for food.

my O sits in the flow of the filter if he cant see me, but if i come in
the room he swims up and down the tank begging, spashing etc. but, as
mentioned before, doesnt other with my family (they think hes dying due
to lack of movement or something)

Course fish like carp, roach etc have excelent memory, remembering good
feeding spots and what baits to avoid and which to take on a lake or
river where fishing is allowed.
