I had a three year old green rumped parroltlet  who I though was in good
health. I took her to the vet for regular vet check ups etc. Two days ago
Emma started having seizures and they wouldn't stop. I called the vet and
raced her there. They kept her overnight, gave her some medications and they
called in the morning and said she had passed away. The vet that I took her
to is an Avian vet who I respect very much and he said he had no idea what
caused the seizures unless he would do an autopsy. I said "no." I  am
heartbroken over my loss and miss "my girl" very much. Has anyone else had
this experience with Parrotlets or any other birds? I also have an 8 year
old female cockatiel who is in good health . Thanks for any responses. Jill

I haven't had this experience, but I'm very sorry for your loss Jill.  It's
really hard to lose our little loved ones.

Brain tumour maybe? So sorry for you loss. You did all you could do for her
and take comfort in that.

Sorry for your loss, but unless you have an autopsy you won't know why she
died. I like to have them done to make sure it isn't something I could
prevent next time round.

I am very sorry for your loss, I can't imagine what you must be going
through.  It is like losing a family member and that is not something I want
to go through again.

I can understand why you don't want an autopsy, so I would like to ask one
question.

Were you cooking with a Teflon coated pan before this happened?  The gas
that comes off of a teflon pan will kill birds.

Praying for peace in your life.

Tony
