I have the same sort of drama in my house. Birds choose their friends based
on factors that we'll never know. I have unbonded girls chasing bonded boys
and yet, there are unbonded boys who'd love to hook up with those girls.
They sing to them, strike all manner of lovely poses for them and yet, the
girls could care less. It's been going on in my house for many, many years.
I have yet to see one of these silly birds give in and pair up with
somebody, simply because that sombody was relentless in their persuit.

The bonding may never change - you'd better marry your girlfriend ;-)
Seriously, my one girl (my first - and she LOVES me) bonded to a boy and
even raised some sweet little babies, but was bonded to me first, then to
her boyfriend. But somehow still split her affection between the boy and
me. Her boyfriend passed away last year and now she's 100% my girl. Even
though, there are three other boys chasing her. Go figure?
I've learned that you can't play cupid with 'tiels. If you put them
together and they hook up, you were just lucky. It's like setting up your
best friend on a blind date. They'll either marry the person, or give you
grief for the rest of your life. I would recommend that you just enjoy them
and their antics. They'll choose whoever they wish - silly little beasts...

I think the words "boy" and "girl" are reserved for, and apply to, humans
only. Wouldn't "male" and "female" be more appropriate?
I loved your romance though and we all know exactly what you meant....so
screw the grammar...LOL

Mine don't even know that they're birds! They only use the "beak of death"
when I make the mistake of treating them like birds ;-)

What consenting adults call their birds is their own business. It's not my
place to judge ;-)
Pizza Girl - 04 Mar 2004 01:18 GMT
Can we consider any cockatiel a "cons72enting adult"? Damn bird likes the
number keys...LOL
At least it wasn't 69. Like he'd know what that was. Ohhhh....wait. 72 is a
party = 69 + 3 more. Filthy cock.
