I currently have a great cockatiel who is almost 1 years old. I work
during the day but he gets a lot of attention in the evening and on
the weekends. His cage is in my living room and he gets plenty of
time out of it when I am home. I really like birds and have done a
ton of research on them. I have decided that I would like to buy a
baby Senegal. I will keep the Senegal in his own cage and will
closely supervise the two birds if they are out at the same time. The
only problem is that my living room is getting a little crowded. I
can probably add the Senegal cage but if I ever decided to get a third
bird in the future, there is no way everthing would all fit in my
living room. I do have a very nice room in my house that I could
dedicate as a bird room. So here are my questions to those of you
with multiple birds:
Is the living room the only place I should keep their cages? Would it
be OK to keep the birds and their cages in their own room as long as I
let them hang out with me outside of their cages when I am home?
If I am going to move my cockatiels cage to a new room, should I do it
now so he does not have to deal with the shock of a new location and a
new bird?
If you have any concerns about a Senegal and a Cockatiel living in the
same house, please let me know. Thank you very much!

The thing I would take issue with is your cockatiel being moved out of the
main room, to make room for a nice new bird. Think how iut is going to feel
:0(
I have my pet birds all in the living room. To allow for this, as I only
have a tiny room, I have nothing more than a TV and a settee in there. Suits
me fine, suits the birds too.
