Anyone have any experience with 'tiels and melaleuca oil? I tried it, and I'm afraid it made my 9-month-old sick. I'm wondering how to get it out of him. And *why* you didn't do some research before forcing poison into the poor little sod? I put it on ME, not the bird! The stuff is marketed as safe and environmentally responsible, and nothing I saw indicated there was any danger to it at all. I AM getting rid of it. The original post sounded to me like you gave it to the bird because you asked "I'm wondering how to get it out of him?"or did you mean your 9-month old son??... ex WGS Hamm cares a great deal about hers and other peoples birds, so that is why she responded that way. I have a product called Mellafix - but it's to put in aquarium water for sick fish. My point is that it does have great antiseptic properties. The Melalueca is an Australian tree. It is a species of Tea Tree. Tea Tree Oil has great healing properties. I use it all the time. But as for putting it on your Tiel, don't do it. Use proper medicine from a vet. |
