I'm here,
been in the hospital (again). Got a bit of catching up, hope you've all been
behaving yourselves?
Piezo Guru - 16 Mar 2005 00:27 GMT
Hell no. What fun would that be?

You OK?

Hope everything is okay with you and you don't have anymore problems.
Missed you. Us all behave ourselves? LOL!

I'm having some health problems right now. So much to take in all at
once - blood tests, x-rays, CT Scan, etc. Hopefully everything will
turn out okay.

Get some morphine patches, they are just like the stop smoking patches and
you get high as a kite every hour!!
I'm sure you'll be fine LT. Take care.

Sounds good! LOL! But I'm feeling better already.

I went into the doctors last Friday for numbness in the right hand
and right side of the mouth - they got the blood tests back yesterday
and my white blood count was high - they think it's an infection
somewhere in my body, so I have been on antibiotics since yesterday -
I'm starting to feel better already. Did the chest x-ray yesterday,
but haven't heard anything. I have to go for the CT scan on my head
this Tuesday - I imagine thats for the numbness I had. Also had
x-rays on the hip - maybe I could go for that morphine patch after
all! It sucks when you're as old as a fossile!!
Piezo Guru - 18 Mar 2005 01:55 GMT
Geeeesh Murphy LT. Go to a damn chiropractor!

I don't believe in them. I also think they are a waste of money. I'll
do fine, I am sure.

Really? I've never had to go to one, fortunately, but I know loads of people
who swear by them, including my Mum, Dad and sister....

I know people that do too and they swear by them as well. I have
never been to one and I believe my medical insurance won't cover it
anyway.
Pizza Girl - 22 Mar 2005 01:47 GMT
You could be fixed in one damn treatment. These are classic nerve pinched in
your back symptoms!

Do it!

I was in a bad car accident back in 1980 - ejected from car 500 feet
- broke pelvis in 7 different places - also cracked tailbone. I
really don't think a chiro can do sh.t for me. This has been
discussed with my doctor before. I just hope he doesn't recommend a
hip replacement because I'm not going to do it. I can walk fine and
have no pain, but when I lay on that side, thats when it bothers me
or if I turn my leg a certain way, such as crossing my legs. Maybe my
doctor will recommend a Chiro - I will see what he says in April
after the Dexa scan.

Ouch. That's gotta hurt :-(

You are pushing it, dear! (brains/web mush)

I got them back Monday. Everything is fine except there is Sclerosis
involving the right sacroiliac joint in my hip. Now I understand why
I am in so much pain.
Pizza Girl - 30 Mar 2005 01:29 GMT
The brains/muh was just a cheer up.

Go to a damn chiropractor a few times at least before you fall apart!  Don't
dedicate any money, pay as you go only.

Fall apart? LOL!

She recommended Physical Therapy, but a chiro wouldn't hurt.

Man, I feel old!
Pizza Girl - 30 Mar 2005 05:59 GMT
No seriously though. Ask around from friends etc. for a good Chiropractor
recommendation. I understand some can be real quacks in the USA. I Canada
they could lose their licence for doing weird stuff but there is still a lot
of money grabbers.

I get 4 minutes of electro muscle stimulation, 4 minutes of thumper massage
and then he adjusts ***ONLY*** what need to be adjusted. I am the only
patient in any rom at the time. Some have 10 rooms going and they spoend 30
seconds with you.  He hardly ever misses and I almost always walk out of
there feeling 100% better. I visited four guys before him and they adjusted
me 100 times and I never felt that cured like this guy. Get a good one.

I will ask around because I have several friends that recommend them.
A friend told me 5 minutes with one and you'll feel like a million
bucks!

I can't imagine what pain Ray must be going through - he has it worse
than you or I.
Pizza Girl - 31 Mar 2005 04:22 GMT
I am not sure exactly what your problem is but it sounds like you are
developing "downstream" damage from having your nerves and lifelines pinched
for so long.

When your brain can't feel  r sense past a pinched nerve in your back /
spine it stops sending nourishment and support. Parts eventually dies
downstream from that pinch. The Chiro adjustment can straigten the spinal
vertabrates and take pressure off the disc that, in turn, pinches the nerve.
Accupunture can release the tension, heal the nerve and promote healing but
may be temporary (3-4 months). I would personally do both for a while.

I've been there. spent 2-3 years contemplating suicide because of a buggered
disc and 5-6 years in pain until this chiropractor I have now.

Try a few hundred dollars worth (out of your pocket) and then look elsewhere
unless you know you are getting better. You will know with a chiro within
2-3 treatments or else walk away. Most Chiros will demand xrays so see if
you can get your hands on yours or CT scans. They will bitch but your dollar
apid for them and you may have to bring them back or get your Chiro Doc to
request them. You can get a whole new set but that's a lot of Xradiation.

Don't tell me they've taken more vertibrae away Ray. Before long you'll
have to stand on a crate to snog Ms Ray ;0)

Morphine lol. I take opiates too for my pain and although they have offered
me morphine and pethedine I won't have it because it makes me sleepy and I'd
never get anything done here.
I try to manage as long as possible without my next dose as I know I will
need more and more to take effect othewise.

This morning, I cleaned all but 2 of the aviary flights out before I had to
stop. I push myself to do just a bit moe, then just anothe bit more. I have
opened all the front weather panels off the aviary too this morning as it is
glorious. Far too warm fo this time of year and sunny. The birds are
enjoying some clean fresh air blowing though, I am sure although I do open
the door on all but the coldest days even if it is only for 10 minutes.

My bantams are all doing well too .

The cockatiels in the mixed aviary want to breed but I won't let them. I
have such a job trying to find sensible long term homes for them, and all fo
a piddling £35-£45 each, it isn't worth it, truly it isn't.

I make more money from my ornamental bantams. At least they pay fo
themselves and subsidise their exotic screaming cousins too :0)

Say hi to Mrs Ray and give the dog a tummy rub from Auntie Pam in
Cambridgeshire :0)

No more discs gone, (2)  the last one didnt work either and they've left me
with quite a bit of nerve damage. I've lost all feeling and reflexes in my
left leg.

The patches dont make me sleepy, just high!! Still have to take all my other
pill's too and 4 injections of insulin a day! At least I'm still up and
about.

I dont bother with weather panels, only the fronts of my aviaries are open.
I've put nest boxes up for my grey's, pionus and tiels. Only the grey's have
shown interest though. Doves are breeding and sparrows are building again.
I've been expanding my tarantula collection (15 species) and started
breeding from some. Bought some long tailed skinks too, they look great in
their planted tank. My son is building a spider and lizard room in the
garden for them all.

I sell my tiels to other breeders, for breeding or showing. I dont breed any
birds for pets, £35-£45 each aint bad or are they hand reared?

I always do Ray. Take the same advice for yourself :0)
I never knew you had spiders <shudder>
Oh well, I will never be able to visit you then cos I have arachnophobia. I
cannot even put my hand on a *picture* of a spider.
