None of 'this' is about *me*. I am of little consequence in
the bigger picture.

I am loathe to go any way down yet another road of
"explanation" when so many have been traversed.
However the criteria required to respond to my question was

screen.. The resulting trail is very easy to follow,

Anyone one of us has trolled at one time or another,
hopefully mostly in fun or information seeking.
Its a sick mind that deliberately goes about posting in a
manner to create chaos and distrust in Groups, particularly
"community minded" ones that do exist on a principle of
information sharing with some 'fun' thrown in. Traditionally
these Groups are not populated with vast numbers of 'geeks'.
All of those criteria fill GimmeButts "List of the
Gullible". He has come seriously unstuck in the
electrical/mechanical science Groups and has been challenged
in a number of other Ng[s] with the resulting action of
NymShifting in abusive vile posting.
One group alt.binaries.crafts.pictures he has been having a
real fun time of it, with verbal spew and graphic posts
targeting anyone who responds with critique.
He has a particular fondness for the marginalised population
in UseNet, those with actual illness, learning difficulties
or communication shortfalls. In short, the weak and lame.

To answer your question directly? Yes, many many times.
In fact I am guilty of attempting to help the guy when he
posted "I dont know, please help me" posts, many many
others carry equal guilt. GimmeButt laughs at us all.
So, yes IF **_I_** have a problem that is the extent of it,
no more.
UseNet has enough morons posting as it is without dipshits
like GimmeButt circling the wagons with his "painted pony"
and Bullshit one-line missives.
That is my concern. Many hours are spent by people learning
new skills. Among the "mature aged" this time spent is
crucial as it could well be spent doing ""RL" things that
have a tangible outcome. Having GimmeButt putting around the
message "that's a lot of sh.t" helps no one save ANY of the
"RL time". His message simply causes people to waste even
more time. The essence of Trolling.

You will be well pleased that I smile when I read you guys
thinking Pizza Girl/Gurl is female *just because* [s]he says
so!
