I crushed up a few dried clam shells as an option for my hen to get calcium.
How ground up do they need to be?

She has cuttlebone, too but I just wanted to give her another source

She probaly will just play with the pieces, why dont you just put powdered
cal mix into her water, or get her a different variety of mineral/calcium
blocks, flavored ones or different sahped ones, mine love Beak Blocks,
pepper shaped and cherry shaped seem to be the favorite here.

How about because they are a waste of money if other much cheaper things
can be used.
