How many of you have Tiels that can talk? And how many Words in it's Vocab.

I have Several that can talk. Their Vocab is of these words

Whatcha Doin?
Pretty Boy!
I love You
Good Boy
Get Over Here!

And also Whistles Andy Griffith, It's not many Words, but they are words,
and helps self occupy when I'm not home to play with them.

how did you get your 'tiel to chatter those words and phrases...?

i don't know if my 'tiel is 'dumb' or i'm just impatient as a trainer....but
it seems i'm getting nowhere when i try to get my tiel to say a human word

You have to be repeative.  How I got mine to talk was I just talked to her
for a few minutes several times a day the same word or phrase each time,
within a few weeks she picked it up.  Just have to keep at it and be
patient.

Try the "night night" routine. Just say it every night before lights out.
Some may never talk.

When I shut my computer down my guy hears the windows shutdown sound and
gets excited and takes off. Once I get him to say "night night" he will go
in his cage and settle.

I have two males, only one really talks, the other mainly sings, screeches
and squawks.

The talking male's favorite word is saying the dog's name over and over.

I've got 3 tiels, one talks quite well, and one makes a good effort. The
talker says:

Chirpy (His name) Pretty Bird, Pretty Chirp, Come here (more like c'mere)
Sparky, Krista, Go outside? (to the dog) And everytime  you pick up a
kleenex, he makes the noise as if he is blowing his nose...its pretty cute.
Whistles several different tunes, and he also says some big long rant when
hes mad...but we cannot figure out what it is. (Always the same)
Teaching him to talk was easy...he just did it on his own, we repeat new
words and he will pick them up quite easily.

The following is from Scarlett O:
I have 14 cockatiels, 5 of which are males.  All of the males talk and
NONE
of the females do.  All of the males say essentially the same things:

Hello Big Boy
Here Kitty, Kitty, Kitty (I also have 7 cats)
Here we go
(Wolf Whistle)
First line of Beethoven's Ninth Symphony (whistled)
"Kissy noises"
CherokeeCandy - 03 Nov 2005 18:32 GMT
I raise cockatiels and only have one male that talks.  He, on his own,
picked up "Can you hear it?  Hear it? Hear it? over and over....  I thought
he was possessed lol, one day I said Heck ya I can hear it.... then he
switched to .. " Sweetheart, want some candy?" candy? candy?
Sweetheart..... over and over... he does alot of chattering and is not
trained.  I bought him as a baby for breeding purposes with an albino.  He
is a white face.  None of my females are chatter boxes, they all chirp and
thats it lol.....  as far as I know, females cannot talk..... tis what I
have been told anyway.

I got an orphaned bird from friends leaving town. Jay Doe whistles the first
part of the Marine Corps Hymn.
