I did it again.  I went to PetsMart today for nothing more than freeze dried
bloodworms and daphnia.  They had just gotten in a new shipment of goldfish
last Friday.  I came home with 2 more pearlscales, 2 black moors and 2
calico telescope eyes I swore I would never buy again.  It's an
addiction....  I can't fight it....  I love goldfish....

We also love goldfish.....especial the Orandas. We are maxed out on
room which seems to be the limiting factor to how many you can have. We
almost need another pond as they multiplied recently....more shubunkins
and not sure about a few (goldfish or orandas???)  It has been a
challenge keeping the water up with water changes.....they seem to be
pretty messy.

#  Spred out to your yard.  Besides our two koi ponds (800 and 2000 gallons)
we have an in-ground 150 gallon goldfish pond.  It has a waterfall and
houses several rosy reds and Shubunkin goldfish.  I also have an assortment
of 150g goldfish above-ground pools behind the house.  These kiddy pools
from Wally World can be set up and ready to go for less than $30 each.
:-)))   Since I spend a lot of time outdoors in warm weather I get a lot of
enjoyment from breeding Shubunkins and rearing the fry.

## You wont know until you catch them!  :-)  I found a nice fantail among
the fry this year.  I haven't had fantails in at least 3 years.

## Yes, they do need at least bi-weekly water changes and the filters
checked weekly, at least.  But there's nothing like a tank of colorful mixed
goldfish.  And if well cared for and healthy, they're long lived.

Messy, true.  :)  I only have pond goldfish, ordinary
golds + comets + shubunkin.  If I get too many,
I'll donate the excess to my local fish store.
Sometimes they even give me store credit but I
don't ask.  I just want the fish to have a chance
at a good home since I refuse to expand further!
