Alright, so, I've had my tank for about a year. About 6 months ago
introduced a new fish to the aquarium (there was just one in i
before). About 3 months afterward, I saw this odd white...."clump" o
the edge of his tail fin. Does anyone have any idea what this is? It'
since fallen off and the fish as matured in to adult hood. However,
would want to be prepared if it's something that could happen again

It was fuzzy and flowy kinda. Since it was on the top tip of the fin.

Ingrid: If it had been a white "spot" I would have posted about it. N
offence but I read those posts and this is differant from what I'v
seen

How is that fish doing now? It's probably bacterial.  Furan or Furanace
should help, including a lot of partial water changes.

Better. Infact, there's not been a problem since. Through it'
unfortunate that his lovely orange spot has all but dissappeared an
now he's compleatly white but still. THanks for the information
