Neons, Paradise fish, Cherry barbs, Coral Platies (they're dwarves),
African Dwarf frogs (2-3), and others too.
You need to know what each fish needs, the adult - maximum size it'll
grow to and stock accordingly (to the max size..not what they are when
purchased).

The your either gonna be keeping fish in a unacceptable and unhealthy
environment if they are too big for the tank.  About all a 5 gal is
good for is the fish mentioned above or perhaps short term housing or
a QT or hospital tank.........
