My male Flame Gourami is by himself in a heavily planted tank, and seems
to be doing well. I've been changing about 90% of his water every night,
as he's in a small tank. Each nite I put in water conditioner and every
other night, some AmmoLock, because his ammonia reading is too high. His
Ph is better now.
He is the sweetest thing, the way he actually looks for me, and swims to
me. He's so curious. There's no mean streak in this little guy.

My small corycat is in a tiny tank also alone. My calico goldfish died
of Ich today. His skin was covered with it, and it was like dried
leather. ;-(
So the cory is quarantined, as I don't dare put him in with my Gourami,
since he was with the sick goldfish. But he looks well.

Sigh.  I think you may be right in seeking a new hobby.
