Anyone who can help, please contact me asap.  I have a large (12-14") Koi,
about 3 years old, that has what appears to be Algae (the long variety, as
opposed to slimy film type) down both sides of the fish, towards the ventral
(underbelly).  The left eye also appears to be clouded, although not covered
with the same green coating.  Through the water and from a distance of about
2 feet, it appears as though the "algae" is growing into and underneath the
scales of the fish.

Thank you for your help,
Ian

yeah, algae grows on really bad slime coat caused by parasites or really toxic water.

scroll down to salt dips here http://puregold.aquaria.net/pg/disease/disease.htm
do a salt dip on this fish, then check the water parameters of your pond (?) ammonia,
nitrites, nitrates and pH?  add salt 0.9 lbs per 100 gallons of water to help with
toxicity.  is there a load of mulm on the bottom of the pond? rotting leaves and
such?  Ingrid

one more thing.  once you get him out you may find a lot more damage than just algae.
this fish may need to be quarantined in a tub or tank (bigger the better) and treated
for parasites. you wont know until you get him outta the pond.   Ingrid
