Does that person have their own pet(s). if so do they appear well cared
for. Ask if they have a favourite pet..ask a few questions....which breed
do they like etc, how long do they live, what do you feed them....just to
see if they have had enough interest in pets to know these things. If you
know someone who has used a pet sitter that is always a good reference
point (from their experience with the person) Ask which vet they go to, see
if they really have had personal experience with a pet and used these
services. (as opposed to someone who maybe had a neighbour whos' dog they
liked but never actually looked after a pet.)
