Daryl - 24 Feb 2005 11:41 GMT http://peskyrabbit.com/news/detail.asp?newsId=97 Do you guys see a PooperBowl 2005 contest theme developing here?
Oh, Nona picked a winner this past year. Congrats, Nona!
Subservient Chicken" Wins North American Viral Award [2.16.05]
The North American wing of the London-based Viral Awards convened last night in New York to showcase the winners that were named last month in London -- and to present the award for "Most Infectious North American Viral Campaign," as judged by a 19-member jury that -- disclosure -- included AdCritic editor Jim Hanas. At the event, which was presented by New York edit house The Now Corporation, Burger King's "Subservient Chicken" effort from Crispin Porter + Bogusky walked away with the North American Gold, followed by MTV's "Instructoart" campaign and Napster work from Venables, Bell & Partners, which took home Silver and Bronze awards, respectively.
(I will dig up the Interactive Chicken link, later.)

Els van der Veen - 24 Feb 2005 11:55 GMT I do post! Only very occasionally...................;) I saw the picture of MaryBeth's Oreo, and was reminded of my Zest (who died almost 2 years ago) and her Bottle of Fizz. So I sent it to Daryl. Looking forward to your entry, Carrie! Els

nona - 24 Feb 2005 18:29 GMT Daryl,
Are you suggesting that we develop rabbit-poop themed Websites designed to attract word-of-mouth hits?
(Not a good combination of hyphenated, adjective phrases, is it?)
Sadly, I doubt if many of us working stiffs have the time.
Or are you suggesting we find a way to advertise rabbit poop, and presumably sell it?
We could really make some money. couldn't we! We all have a bountiful--and continuing--source of supply!
I think perhaps we might do straight poop art this year.
I believe the second (?) Pooperbowl was based on size.
However, the "contest" morphed into artistic arrangements.
I think there were no prizes but pride points that year.
Arlette could never get us to vote on her carefully devised categories!
And then, of course, there was your classic poop snowperson!
What do you think, Daryl?
Do you want it on your site? You could be the censor, evaluating contributions for family friendliness if you catch my drift!

scGram - 24 Feb 2005 23:48 GMT Great idea Nona ... we could market it as "All Natural Bunny Manure" ... great low aroma furtilizer for your house plants and flowerbeds ;-)
My kids produce about 50 lbs a month of it :-)

There is a dumb law that you can't put out your garbage before 6p on garbage nite - but when i have 6-8 FULL bags of bunny debris, i'm NOT gonna carry it twice! It goes from the house to the curb on garbage nite.... I know some neighbors who got fined for putting garbage out too early. people are so petty!
Ronie
scGram - 25 Feb 2005 23:23 GMT HeHe ... I didn't actually weigh it (just a guestimate), but you could put it on a bathroom scale ;-)

Or, was there?
The internet was acting up at that time. I posted my results via APR/Newgroups and Arlette never got them for some reason.
Anyway, to answer your question. We *should* have an art theme this year. And, we should not really restrict it. I mean if you want to write a poem, write a poem. If you want to send a Pic, send a Pic. I think *Bunnies* should be able to express their creativity, any way they want. Oh, and we will have a pooping bean, ah, er, jelly bean guessing contest like we had last year too. And, we can use my Website. No problem about that. After all, I made it for you guys. But, we will need some judges this year. So, I will be contacting some of you this weekend for that.

Daryl - 26 Feb 2005 20:31 GMT Yep, Arlette. Looks like that is where we are heading.
1) Poop Art Contest, & 2) PooperBowl Ads Contest, & 3) Jelly Bean Poop guessing contest.
So, it would be 2 creative contests that one could participate in. Or, if neither of those *grap you* and it is kind of not *your bag* then one could just fall back on the Poop guessing contest and hope one gets lucky there. In of which, anybody guess the exact number of bunny poops this year and, I will eat them! Anyway, there will be 3 contests to participate in, if one wants.
We will have 7 APR Judges this year to Pic the winners for contests 1 & 2. I figure let everyone enter as many times as they like on these two.
Judges can enter too and vote for themselves, if they want, as I have already ironed out the problems with all that stuff. We have some very good Judges and I doubt they will vote for themselves if they see something better than their entry.

Daryl - 28 Feb 2005 15:55 GMT LOL. Well, last year I counted 3,225 poops and that was some hard work. We are going the cheap route this year. The poops this year are actually chocolate covered blueberries. :) The bowl is half the size of last years bowl and the poops, ah er, berries are twice the size of last years poops.
And, sure. We can throw the bowl in as a prize. We have some good prizes this year. Nothing really spectacular but, as Nona puts it, *bragging rights* prizes.
We have a sponsor this year and of all the prizes were donated. We have some toy pooping rabbits left over from last year so, we have those, too. If you like collecting rabbit things, as most of us do, first prize is certainly a collectors item.
6 of the 7 Judges have checked in so, we can start tomorrow. Good Luck, PooperBowlers. :)
