Hi all and lots of fusses for the bun buns too :)  Just a quick update
on life with the 2 madams.  Honey is the more easy going of the two and
loves to be petted occasionally.  She never comes to me for pets its
always the other way round.  Miranda doesn't come to me for anything.
She will however take food from my hand but skitters away if I try to
put a hand near her.  If I sit on the floor I am ignored by both of
them.  Honey has gotten into the habbit of making a grand entrance into
the lounge now... she starts out in the hall and runs... binkies through
the doorway and lands in the middle of the lounge.  It cracks me up
every time.  If gets angry if you shut the lounge door so come winter we
are all going to be very cold LOL.  Honey is obviously the alpha bun.
Her idea of fun is to constantly give chase to Miranda. Nothing ever
comes of it and and hour later they can be asleep about 3 feet apart
from each other.  On another note... can anyone suggest something to
take the red staining out of carpet?  These two devil women are wrecking
ours.  I have strategically placed hay boxes where they like to pee but
they are smart enough just to do it beside the hay ...GRRRR  So all in
all we don't really seem to be getting anywhere with them.  I know Honey
is happy, I don't know about Miranda as she is too timid.  I have never
seen her binkie either :(  Take care all,

Regards Kate, Miranda and Honey

Dear Kate,
It sounds like things are going well the the girls, even if it doesn't
seem like there is much "progress".

Miranda sounds like my Jake. He will come to me to take a cranberry
and then skitters away. If I approach him, he'll often grunt at me and
then go hide. Many times I worry that he just doesn't like me, but I
know it's not true. I think he just has a shy personality, and I think
that whatever experiences he had before he found his forever home with
us just make him more timid around hoomins.

Don't be discouraged! You are doing a great job! Just keep loving
these girls.

One thing that helps with our Jake is to put him in a pen and then sit
in there with him. For some reason, this makes him comfortable. Maybe
trying something like this with Miranda would help?

Hang in there!

Hugs,
Marie

spell i had to give her meds..unlike most buns. the more i picked her
up. the freindlier she has gotten. so , i keep picking her up. she even
lets me kiss her once and a while.
while we have a hold on her, we double kiss her on both cheeks.. she

Hello,

Our jack Loves Connie very much.  Me also but he will not let me pick
him up.  Connie picks him up whenever she likes.  He will let me pet
him.  He will not move until I stop.  He also grunts when it is
feeding time especially his evening salad.  He free roams half the
time the rest of the time he happilly spends in his pen.  He lets
Connie kiss him also.

Pepper will allow me to pick her up on occasion but for about 10 seconds
before she starts to fight free.  She's been with me about a year and a
half.

Sh has certain places where she sits that if I come up slowly she will
allow me to pet her head and face, but she is always the one in charge.

Hi Kate,
Miranda is the Dutchy, no? My Hendrik will never let me touch him either.
It's just the way he is. But he is happy to be with me, I'm sure. He's been
living with me for about two years now and our relationship is still
developing. Only touching is out of the question. I'm sure he has good
reasons for that, even if they are unknown to me. Maybe if you could also
accept that touching isn't the defining factor in a relationship with a
rabbit, you'll feel less disappointed?
Hendrik has learned over time to come running if I call him. He is now able
to run freely in the garden for half an hour each day (supervised) and then
comes scooting into the kitchen for a treat. He has taken to sitting next to
whatever chair I'm sitting in. When I sit on the floor at night, he will
find a way to be close. But no touching, thank you Mam!
We're fine.
Els
