How bad have I been?

On a whim I gave a cracker to Oreo and Gracie. Then my brain activated
and I looked it up on the web, which said don't do that. As it turned
out Oreo only ate half of his, although Gracie inhaled hers.

Is this something I should worry about, or just chalk up to
experience?

A plain cracker between two rabbits will really do no harm.  Next time
make it some carrot.  They'll like it even more, plus it's good for
them.  :-D

Just don't give them doritos.  They may never stop.

Once the thunder of the buns' high five dies down, you will probably want to
stay away from starchy foods like crackers - poopy butt could follow - and
that's what I'd watch for, but I don't think ONE cracker will hurt anybun
ONE time. Patches was a cracker NUT - but I used to only give her a sliver
of a saltine once in awhile.  But if she discovered me snacking on a cracker
she would streeeeetched way up on her hind legs with her little nose just
sniffing away in the general direction of my mouth - the Rotten Rabbit
version of "Whatcha eatin? Whatcha got there? Is that a cracker?
C'mere...lemme smell your breath."

Rabbits can smell an un pealed apple, in your pocket, two rooms away!

thank you Laurie.

I just cant get her to eat much of her pellets!!    today, while i was
sitting here watching Tv,  all of a sudden she comes running in with a
paper muffin cup in her mouth.. it still had a bit of muffin inside,
i had thrown it away... darn bunny went into the trash!!!!!!!!!!!!!
poor thing seems so hungry!!!.. she does now eat some hay and
pellets.. but obviously she is hungry... i just dont know what to do
anymore... she still gets her parsley every day which she loves. one
carrot and a piece of banana.. and all of the pellets and hay she can
eat... does anyone have any more suggestions????  remember, she has in
the past few months been weaned off of cracker type treats. so she is
and will always be a cracker addict... LOL    thanks my dear friends.

What kind of hay are you giving? I've found that the rabbits I've had
didn't all like the same kind. My current two will eat mountain grass
eagerly, but have to get really hungry to eat timothy.

Basically, make available healthy stuff, when bunnies are hungry,
they'll eat. If you give them what they want they'll hold out for
that. So just say no to the bad stuff.

She's not hungry - she's GREEDY!

They are just like little kids - they will ALWAYS want yummy junk-food
but we have to be mean parents and make sure that they get the things
that are good for them.  It's soooo hard to resist but we have to.

You have been *very, very, very* bad.

You will be severely punished.  One more cracker for each bunny!

Now!!!!!

Joe, crackers to buns are the equivalent of a bad addiction to humans, such
as chocolate, smoking or drugs. You can not just give one. There will be
anarchy and hell to pay, believe me. My first lop, Dumplings, would search
the grocery bags with a fine tooth comb and seek out any small crumb to be
found. It is a sad thing to see a bun coming down off of a cracker high.

Yeah...you hear about it in the news all the time "cracker addicts."
Really, it's everywhere.  You can't be too careful.  It's a terrible thing
and you really shouldn't be propogating (sp?) the habit along to your
furkids.  ;-)  Next thing you know we'll have to be opening a halfway house
for crackerheads...

Bummer, Oreo's kind of wandering around asking various things in the
room if they know where the crackers are. He's carrying a cracker pipe
in his mouth. Time for Bunnies Anonymous I guess.

It's all my fault ...

Make sure to watch the silverware, they may attempt to pawn something to
support that habit. And please keep it healthy, give low sodium crackers.

Well, our silverware is stainless steel, so they won't get very far
with that.

Maybe I should try cracker patches.

that bazy just went through the trash and came running in with a paper
muffin cup in her mouth.. acting like it was the first thing she has
eaten in months and ran when i got close to her.. ohh dear... i have
created a monster... i worry that she is hungry but i must be careful
about what i feed her. due to her recent bouts of diarrhea....... its
funny, but you are correct... it is sad at the same time.. i had no
idea
