Hi Els,
You are so sweet to be thinking of her - I don't think her in little
life she's had much concern, so I'm glad there are lots of people out
there sending her vibes.

I'm out of town, so my husband is in charge of Crumpet this week and
he took her down to the vet this morning.

I wrote up a list of questions for the vet about the spay, which put
my mind at ease. The vet said to keep her fed and happy until the
drive down (which is about an hour away). The receptionist that said
to take away the food is just used to dealing with cats and dogs and
gave the wrong info. She also answered the other questions just as the
HRS recommended, so I'm hoping all goes well.

I'm worried of course, but I think Crumpet will be in good hands. I am
missing her and the other buns terribly while I'm out of town.

Will post when I hear back from the vet.

Thanks again for your good vibes!

Thanks for the update! Sounds like a great vet. Hope to hear from him and
you soon. I don't know why, but that beautiful rexgirl has made quite an
impression on me. She does remind me of Alma though, who was so happy and
appreciative with her new life.
Take care
Els

Thank you all for your good vibes.

My husband called the vet and the receptionist said our little rexy
was doing ok. He's on his way down to pick her up and bring her home.

I'll be so glad when I get back on Sunday to see her!

Crumpet is doing pretty well after her spay. My husband says she's
eating, leaving gifts, and managing to move around a little. He said
last night that she looked like she was not enjoying getting in and
out of her haybox and maybe struggling a little when she was in it
(e.g. just sitting there for awhile), but I think after what she's
been through she'll be kind of out of it for a day or so.

I feel so bad for her. When Inky was spayed, she was hopping around
like nothing happened. I guess Crumpet is more like her mother. I just
had surgery in December and it took me about 6 weeks to fully recover!

O you poor thing, Marie!
The fact Crumpet is eating and pooping (no eufamisms here), is great. She'll
be ready to welcome you with open paws on Sunday. Maybe you can ask your
husband to just feel her tummy. No picking up involved, just slide your hand
under her tummy and feel the area of the operation. If there are no big
bulges and the skin is cool to normal, everything is great.
Great! ;)

*Noodles commandeers the keyboard*

Dear Crumpet,

First, my vibes to you.  I had that spay thing in October.  I had a
sore tummy but the pain meds made things better and after about a week
I felt closer to my old self again.  My tummy fur took FOREVER to get
back to normal, though!  It grew back around the incision right away,
bur the area around that stayed bare for the longest time and only in
the last few weeks has it filled in again completely with white fur.
The guys haven't made fun of me because I'm bigger than Kuni and
almost bigger than Raul.  Use your size to your advantage here!

I hope you didn't have to wear that *shudder* COLLAR!  If you do,
under NO circumstances should you let any of the hoomins get near you
with a camera.  The Foodgiver did and she's using that photo of me as
her avatar on her My Space page now, it's soooooo embarassing, and it
got posted on disapproving rabbits, too!  Bite them where it really
hurts if they try to take any photos.  Remember, cell phones can take
pictures and hoomins can be sneaky when they think something is
"cute".  They are twisted, demented creatures.

Remember, you can really milk sympathy right now, use it to the max.
