Hey - if you or someone you know lives in the Mountain View, CA area, a
friend of mine just found a lost domestic rabbit there - well cared for,
obviously a lost pet.  If he (or she, we don't know yet) could be yours,
shoot me an email and I'll put you in touch.  I'm afraid to give much of
a description because the photos weren't clear, but s/he APPEARED to be
pretty small and mostly grey.  I couldn't tell the breed.

You don't think it might be Meaty, do you, from over on LJ on bunnyowners? I
/think/ they're from Cali, but I"m not sure, nor am I sure what part, but
the San Diego HRS was mentioned. Meaty is a whitish grey minilop and has
been missing for a few days now, and his owner is devastated.

That was my first thought as well - she's heartbroken and we're all
worried.  She's in San Diego, and her mother left the door open.
Mountain View isn't really nearby but anything is possible.

her second post is here:

I don't want to post and get her hopes up if it's not him, but pls have
your friend look and see if it might be him.  If it's possible, her
e-mail is

one way to help find him is toalert all the local kids. offer a reward
to them. kids will go everywhere. i found my cat years ago like that. m
mom left the door open too. it took three days to locate him. then,
another day or so to get him back. he was under a neighbors house!
i have been told many time that rabbits will not go really far. they
tend to stay near home. i really hope this is the case.

beth and her cute little fuzzbutts, :)

Oh how terribly sad!  I hope it's Meaty.  He looks so incredibly
sweet.  Prayers are going her way.
