Thankyou all for your thoughts and prayers, they kept me going yesterday.
Emma spent over 6 hours in surgery, she is now pinned together and her spine
is stable. Within 2 hours of the surgery she was able to prop herself up in
bed and was eating and using her phone, she is as good as new and expects to
be home on Sunday.
I think her surgeon is probably able to walk on water.....she was most
certainly in safe hands......and watched over.
It has been a rollercoaster of a week for all of us, but we feel now we can
rest ourselves and relax a little.
Again thanks to everyone here.

That's such a relief - even for me so I can't begin to imagine how you
must feel.

I'm so pleased for you all.  The surgeon must be very skillful.  And
I'm sure you are his/her biggest fan now.

Hugs to you all

Ros

Hazel, so happy to hear the good news about Emma!

I'm glad you asked us to keep her in our thoughts and prayers. APR good
vibes -- with the help of the HP -- are powerful.

Just back from the hospital. Emma has been out of bed and walked round her
room today with a little support from the physiotherapist. Still taking
morphine and a little bit uncomfrtable, but so much better. It is still
hoped she can come home tomorrow, but will depend on getting her pain relief
regulated. She is a little wary about moving but after 5 days flat on her
back and knowing the risks of moving (being trained in spinal cord injury
management), that is to be expected. It all seems to good to be true right
now. We have seen the x-rays taken during surgery for the placement of the
screws and rods they are amazing. Thanks again for your continued thoughts

Well amazing as it seems she is home. She walked out of the hospital on
Monday evening after being admitted via ambulance on the previous Monday
morning. Surgery was only done on Friday and she is almost pain free and
fully fit already! She has been given the OK to drive and is allowed to go
back to work whenever she wants to, though she has been advised not to swim
for 3 weeks because of the stitches. Follow up x-rays will be taken next
week. She is able to manage stairs although bending is still difficult, she
is getting more flexible by the day.
Thank you once again for your support, I could not have made it through this
week without friends like those I have on this amazing group.

What absolutely wonderful news Hazel. I can only imagine the burden that is lifting off you. Being a mother I know that when
something happens to your kids it's so much worse than if it happens to you. Bless you all.
