Not me - StealthBunny.
Time Warner discontinued newsgroup service effective today, with no
warning, and Cam can't get back on here.
Besides Google Groups, which we all know loses posts and is awkward to
use, does anyone know of any free ways to access here (Even the low-cost
ones are out of her reach now).
I'll forward all posts on this thread to her, since I IM her nearly
every day.

Thanks Arlette, this (talk about pets) seems better than Google Posts
Bright House/Time Warner/Road Runner did make an offer of supplying a
alternative newsgroup provider and I may monkey with them this weeken
after a get my new computers hooked (up if I get the time). All my
business admin work is out of the home now so, I
got make sure all that is working before I can play:) Wish that Talk Abou
Pets had a spell check though as I am the Typo King

I'm in the same boat :( This is my last evening on here as tomorrow I get
shut off. I can't justify the low cost access ones right now either. Hope
to get back with all of you again someday if not soon. Good-Luck to all of
you and your little bunnies too!!
Susan :)

Dave had an excellent alternative news server @ $15 A YEAR! Go back and
read his posts.

news.individual.net from university of berlin. I got it and it works just
fine. Easy to sign up for and price was 10 euros. Well worth it and I
didn't miss a beat and it works just great - and I can now just thumb my
nose at the idiots who thought they could limit access to global
information.

Well, THEY charged euros. Paypal calculated the exchange and took MY
dollars. :-) Depends on which side of the transaction you look at!
If you don't like Google, get this newsserver. It's got me saying "Verizon
who?" ;-)

No warning? I posted a warning last week on this group that others have
replied to. Granted I didn't cite just which ISP's were dropping the group
(or all Usenet access) because several large ones were and the list seemed
to change.....

ughhhhhhhhh, Google groups :( Will have to do this for now. That
individual. net thing does not take my preferred form of payment. I
hope you don't
have to validate every darn post on Google because my eyes are not
like they used to be and those things screw me up. (obtw that e-mail
address is
not valid). This Google group thing sure has changed from the last
time I used it. Can't believe they figured out how to make it suck
more..........

I've been using Free Agent, but I think it goes through
news.west.earthlink.net for me [I use Earthlink for my ISP] so I don't
know if that would work for the disposessed among us. I do like it;
there is a fancier version that has a fee but the plain version works
just fine for me.
HTH.

I'm on, news.west.earthlink.net, too. Earthlink is my ISP as well.
They have two huge news servers. One you mentioned, plus,
news.east.earthlink.net. I have the paid version of Agent, but free
agent is cool. I used to use that too. I use Netscape 7.2 to read APR
because it works really well with our format.
Here are some free servers.
