My account provider has dumped newsgroups too. I'm not sure why I'm
paying them the same as I did but that will work itself out somehow.

So if anyone is still seeing this, I've setup a domain and web hosting
service as a vehicle to learn more about php, mysql, yada-yada-yada,
and I'm wondering if there's any interest in getting together on
something of our own. Could be a mailing list, or a web forum, or
something. I'm thinking the UHF needs a web site to coordinate its
activities, but time will tell on that.

Anyway, if there's any interest in something like this let me know at
jhalpin100 - at - gmail - dot - com.

Hi Joe,
I see you.

We could have a forum like OREO has, but I still like this best. I think
I'll stick this out until they do away with Usenet altogether...LOL
Forums tend to be disjointed, but if it was all one general posting board,
it might work.

I was actually thinking of moving that over to an actual UHF website
that had either a mailing list or some kind of forum. Whatever it
would be would take some time though, so I was just looking for
ideas.

I may wind up just paying for a public newsgroup account myself, but
thought I'd ask.

Thanks

Hi Joe,

Earthlink (which of course stinks basically) is still dealing Usenet
though it, too, is owned by Time-Warner. Go figure.

Maybe their "tech staff" hasn't been able to figure our how to turn it
off yet! They sure do know how to let it go down accidentally!

Does UHF refer to United Hare Force? Or something else?

I highly value APR as a Usenet forum because of its accessibility to
everyone.  Though it does not happen often, we do get visits from bun
owners in distress over their critters who have searched and found us.

Often there is someone reading here to offer a wise word or two -- or at
least a response! -- no matter what the hour.

So IOW, I consider the open access service component of APR an important
part of its function.

Google is annoying, prying, lacking immediacy, and otherwise a PITA.

But other than that, why not post and read through them?

That's probably what I will do for the near future. It really is a
PITA though.

Thanks

in my opinion APR should never change, we have all been there for each
other, i really like this forum; and afterall we have our Christmas card
exchange, and some very close friendships which i hope last a lifetime. i
fear if we change that some people may be lost from the server; but maybe we
could get the chat group going again at a set time on a regular basis.

(little zoe bunny, tabitha, tiffany, precious, bugsy(and awaiting our new rescue
honey bunny) and all the rest of the fur kids. maybe we should start a
rescue, if mommy ever gets better; but i have to admit i Looove snuggling in
my blankie under the sheets with mommy for hours, i think i'm her favorite
but don't tell i said that okay.
