I took Pepper back for her re-check for her pasteurella, and things look
great!
She's been off the chloro-whatsits for 3 weeks and the probiotics for
one, and the only effect I have seen is that she is grumpy there is no
longer (drug-laced) applesauce at meals. There has been thumping and
flouncing.
They took a culture just in case, although they didn't see any goop or
anything. Her one ear looks a little dirty, so I need to step up the
OtiRinse to daily for a week or so - THAT's not going to go over well
with Miss PepperPants - but no sign of any infection anywhere.
*BIIIIIIG sigh of relief*
Her immune system may well be permanently compromised, so I have to
watch her carefully and take her back in at the first sign of future
sneezes. But this is one little bunbun who beat the odds!

I'm glad "miss pepper pants" is ok... My muffy had pasterella and he
had to have two operations to remove puss filled absess'es.. He did
very well though. and lived to be 10 years old..

Ugh - poor thing! Pepper had the upper-respiratory and ear
infection-strain, but both were resistant to Baytril. Luckily I took
her in as soon as I noticed "something not right", and even luckier that
we had pet insurance. It's been a rough few months, but hopefully we
have it licked. She's about 4 we think, and I hope to have her around
for a good long time yet.
We celebrated with a strawberry this afternoon.
