I can't believe that boy is still around.  He doesn't use his litter
box anymore - so i'm using the faux sheep skin to help wick away the
urine from his body. no urine burn at all yet.  and he's been doing
fairly well with his cecals too.  he's learned to turn around to eat
them.

I weighed him tonight...  he's down to 8#7oz.  he used to weigh 12
pounds at his highest.  there were some days i thought it was time.
even made a phone call for help to get an IV Cath in, but the phone
was busy.  i gave him more pain meds that time and he seemed more
comfortable within an hour.

His breathing is very raspy, wet sounding.  his mouth smells rotten,
but the damn boy is still eating fairly well!  it takes him a bit
longer, but what the heck, his teeth are really bad, and he has
draining pus going everywhere.

As soon as there's discomfort i can't control with pain meds, i'll
help him on his way.

He spent alot of time in my arms tonight.  we watched a movie.  he
seemed very comfortable.  i was massaging him.  when i got to the big
feet, he spread his toes wayyy apart in delight!

he has some watermellon tonight.  as did the rest of them....

Milton is SUCH a mess when he eats his salads or ANYTHING for that
matter.  but with the watermellon, he looked like a girl with lip
stick!

Imagine these pictures, but in pink!

Milton has ALWAYS been a messy eater - i just don't get how he can get
lettuce to be so messy!  watermellon is more understandable.

Rich will be visiting soon - he's on the road now.  i told rich i
can't make any promises that Rufus will still be alive when he gets
here in mid july, but we would do our best.  If Rufus needs to goto
the bridge before rich's arrival, then we will have a drink to our
camping buddy!  (hell a drink if Rufus IS still alive too!  hee hee)

so we are hanging in there.  i know his quality of life isn't good at
all, but he's still enjoying alot of things too.  so we keep going day
by day.

That's all for now.

Glad Ruf is still with us!

That lettuce looks a bit past it's due date!
Cocoa would get moisture on his chin that I always had to dry off. But he
had black fur, so I couldn't tell if it got green.

Oh trust me, it's not past the due date  - i think he's like a cow -
chew it, chew it again, chew it a third time.  Ok - now we can
swallow!

Blahhh

Oh, I see, so he chews it but doesn't actually take it in, so it gets to be
like lawn mower sludge?? Man, that is a mess. Do you chop it up in small
bits? That might help. I had to do that for Cocoa in his last few weeks.
