Dr. Saver is just finishing her last surgery.  I expect to hear from her
soon.  One vet tech said Wizard ate a small amount of parsley and some
alfalfa.  I want to hear that from the doctors.

Beth suggested to leave Zolo with Wizard if they are staying overnight,
so as to help Wizard feel some comfort.

Sending healing vibes for Wizard. I know this is scary to go through
and I pray that Wizard gets through on his own.

I agree with Beth that have Zolo as a comfort bun would be a good
idea. I know when Jake is stressed and Inky is with him, he relaxes
far more (and eats and poops), then when he is on his own.

might be for the best. they will take good care of him.  did you bring

I would not give a "blocked" rabbit alfalfa.

Dana Krempels says it can contribute to the overgrowth of bad bacteria
that is the major issue in most "blockages."

Nor would I give oats. Not everyone agrees with me on this.

I don't think the vet tech is telling the truth.   Dr Saver will.  She
will call me after seven.  Alfalfa gives Jump poopy butt every time.  I
don't have alfalfa in my house in my house.

Wizard  will stay over night, unfortunately, with out Zolo.  Zolo looks
lost, and Jump is stressed.  We're all stressed.  I will be able to see
Wizard tomorrow.

At least you know Wizard is in knowledgeable hands, although none so good as
those at home. :-(

This is stuff in the stomach, not the intestines, right? So the stuff in the
stomach isn't being digested nor hydrated and is getting to big/thick/dry to
pass into the intestines, is that right?  It's not stasis then? When Merlin
crossed, was there any diagnosis of what caused the impaction?

Maybe it's all the same thing - I'm just wondering if it could be anything
in their diet or environment that might be contributing.

Sending prayers and vibes for Wizard that the mass hydrates and moves along
as it should...

I'm guessing he's on Reglan? I wonder what the little bug ate to get this
way? More healing, eating and pooping prayers.

They (the boys) all eat the same stuff.  Jump has not had a tummy
problem in four years.  Basically I feed them the same stuff every one
here does. Small amount of pellets. Lots of timmy hay. A few cups of
veggies.  Natural treats.  Wizard has eaten the same stuff at the same
time every day, all of his life.  Merlin chewed all kinds of stuff.
Wizard never chews anything.  I couldn't convince him to eat a blueberry!

Hmm, maybe he wasn't drinking enough? It has been hot there, right? Whatever
the cause, sometimes it just is. I pray he gets well.

All my thoughts and prayers for a speedy recovery.

Hopefully hydration is the key to resolving the problem.

If hydrating is the only therapy perhaps you could
bring him home for the weekend and sub-q him.

Though I am not crazy about it, Junior gets his sub-q's at home when h
slows down in the drinking
department.

Anyway, hoping for a good follow up report

((((((Wizard))))))))
We will pray for him.
Mui had similar problem due to small stomach and bowel as she is very small.
And she ate too much hay in one time which slow down the movement
and gradually bowel has lost its elasticity.
but she was not totally blocked and so was on both cisapride and metaclop.
for sometimes.
comfort vibes to (((((((Zolo and Jump)))))))))
Take care, blessings on the way as well.

You may have something there.  Wizard does love to pack in the hay.  He
is, larger than Mui, 3 1/2 pounds.
