Zolo Hurt Himself

Last night Zolo ran under the Lazy Boy sofa.  The Professor told him to
get out from under there, but he didn't listen and got his head caught.
I leaned the sofa back while the Professor tried to shoo him out.  He
did run out from under, but since then he hasn't been eating.  We think
he's either very sore around the jaw, or something worse.  He can't or
won't chew.  He will swallow a little piece of banana, which is very
soft, but nothing else.  We tried dandelion, cranberries, even hay.  The
Professor is besides himself with worry and upset.  Our vet's office is
closed today and I am going to take Zolo to another rabbit vet in
Westchester.  Hopefully that vet will be in.  I won't know until 8:30
am, but I plan to get there before they open.

Please everyone pray for Zolo's recovery, and the Professor needs moral
support.  After just getting over Wizard being ill, this is very stressful.

Thanks,
Magic Brenda.

Send healing vibes and prayers for Zolo.
We hope and pray it's nothing serious, and Zolo feels much better soon.

Ask the vet if he thinks rimadyl might be a good idea. It is a good
painkiller and also reduces swelling.
My Hendrik once had a very sore mouth/throat because a stick he was chewing
got stuck. One shot of rimadyl reduced the swellling and took away the pain.
He was eating in no time.
good luck!

Hi Brenda - sending vibes for a quick recovery for Zolo, that it's nothing
more serious than some bruised dignity (or just a little bruise of some sort
period).

Magic Brenda and the Professor,
We hope Zolo will recover very soon.
Sending healing vibes to him and hope he just got just alittle pain on the
mouth and will be fine too.
Take care,

Oh, man!  Poor Zolo.

Well, he could not be going to a better rabbit vet than Dr. Stanzione.

I'm sure he will get the help he needs.

I've got to say again, though, they I don't feed sweets or starchy foods
to a rabbit who is not eating. If the rabbit has stasis, those foods can
make it worse, IMO.

I agree with that Nona, but I also think a little banana in a situation of
stress, might just do the trick. Zolo is not in stasis, but just frigtened
or hurt from running under something.

I have to wonder, too, if Zolo ran under the sofa for some other reason
than just mischief.

I'm wondering if something was already wrong.

I'll bet Dr. Stanzione can sort it out, though.
