5 weeks ago we stopped the antibiotics.

2 weeks ago they did a culture and found no more signs of pasturella.

2 days ago she started sneezing again, and leaving more than half her
salad on the plate.

Here we go again :(

Called vet this morning, and paid over the phone for more chloro-whatsit
to be picked up from their emergency clinic later this afternoon.  Same
dosage as before plus the probiotic and a vet check in 3 weeks.

So apparently this is life with a pasturella-positive bunny.
Poor thing.

Aww, so sorry Wendy,

Some buns I've read stay on meds permanently.

I wonder if Pepper could take some immune boosting type vitamins or things.
Beth might know what would be good....Beth??

Oh, Wendy.
We are saying a prayer for little Pepper.  We are glad you are on top of it!

Poor little Pepper, hope the stuff starts kicking in and helps her feel
better and keeps the sneezing to a minimum. Hay aggravates Liza into
sneezing around here, does it bother Pepper. Carla Liza and Jodie

I'm sorry, Wendy.

That's a shame.

But pasteurella can be managed, and it just becomes a small part of your
daily routine.

Pepper will feel good again, and so will you.

Hi Wendy

I'm sorry Pepper's down with it again.

Cinnamon has chronic Pseudomonas so I can appreciate how you feel
about this.  I'll be dosing her with antibiotics for the rest of her
life to keep on top of it.

Wendy, I am sorry for the setback.  I hope with the meds you can
manage the disease.  Pepper is in good hands with you.

I'm sorry Wendy :-(. That is really odd that 2 weeks ago there was nothing
and here it's started up again.  Has *anything* happened in the last two
weeks? Something that might have altered her environment, stressed her out
and allowed the infection to grab hold again?

I'm glad that she's got such a good bunmom to watch out for her.  How long
did you treat her last time?  I wonder if it would be best to add another
couple weeks to whatever it was, just to be certain? Did the vet say
anything else about it - or indicate that it was not unexpected?

I remember dealing with Roger's pasteurella - and for the most part he was
one happy go lucky little guy, pasteurella notwithstanding!   He was always
easy to give meds to!! LOVED banana flavored baytril, although we ended up
giving bicillin injections as I recall. I get confused which we were
treating with bicillin first - the pasteurella or the wounds he got from
little Miss Rosie!

dr mann tells me with chronic things like this. we were gonna treat pj
this way.. but....
it is best to pulse the meds..  one week a month. just give it.  for
prevention. you might want to ask your vet about this method.

I will do - we're dosing for 3 weeks and then a recheck.

I'm preparing to move in a month and have been taking things apart and
cleaning.  This is why I waited a few days before calling after she
started sneezing.  *I* was sneezing too - from all the fluff that was
under the bookshelves!  She was also in a huge shed for the past few weeks.

Last time we started with Baytril (which helped for a little and then
stopped) and then teh chloro-whatsits for 4 weeks.  I have 3 weeks to
dose her and then back to the vet for "what to do next".

She is mostly pleased that the applesauce with meals has come back!
