We were thinking of getting Nicholas a puppy in the spring. I have my
heart set on a puggle. I was wondering how everyone elses experiences
have been introducing a puppy to rabbits. Sharkey was in a home with
dogs and I'm sure could care less. Boo Boo is up on the dog crate and
I don't think he would be fazed, but I'm worried what Louise and
Hershey may do. Hershey stayed in his cage for over 2 weeks when we
moved. Would I have to block the puppy off from the living room when
the buns are caged still? So much to think about, I'd really
appreciate some input from those of you who've experienced a new puppy
addition. Thanks.

Lisa, at my job there are three dogs, one of which is a two year ol
puggle. I sometimes have to walk him or do other things for him,he is hal
pug, half beagle and he does howl when left alone, some sort of anxiet
over separation, very social dog and doesn't know any strangers. He i
very friendly and somewhat clumsy and from research I did on his breed fo
his owner, my boss, it says that they are very good with other species o
animals, but he is clumsy and jumps on people. Don't know if that kin
would be gentle with buns, even if they didn't mean to be. Just because o
their size. I have a picture I could send you of him. He is very loving an
doesn't seem to bark at squirrels, or other small types, so maybe. Carl
Liza and Jodie. Remember training is everything in molding thei
character

i had freinds saying with us, they got a puggle.. which is great when
you have no money and are living with someone else( just venting) that
puppy howled every single time they left him alone.. it never stopped...
it was a nice little dog. very hyper too. it has since been rehomed with
more responsible people and so have they.. long story//

Lisa, my "little puppy" (who weighed in today at *only* 130 pounds--I think
his shorn fur must weigh the other 10 pounds I was expecting) would never
ever hurt a bunny.
BUT... three of the four bunnies I have had did not believe me when I told
them that. Tibs never had a problem, and somewhere I have a picture of her
nose to nose with Todd, both with what-the-heck-are-you looks on their
faces. The others were all very frightened of Todd's proximity, whether they
actually caught sight of him or not.
Perhaps if I had made more of an effort to socialize the others with him it
would have worked, but I have always had to keep doggie and bunnies
separate.
That's my experience... :(
