Hi Els,
The buns are beautiful. How big are they? Are the hedgehogs pets or are they
wild? We have one a s a pet.

Hi Debbie,
The two rexes Bird and AlmaMater are 4 kilo's each (that's 4000 grams), so
they are quite big, but not like Flemish Giants.

The hedgies are wild ones. I was asked to look after two babies some 6 years
ago, by a wildlifeshelter, and they adjusted fine to garden life. I share
gardens with about 50 other houses, and these gardens are surrounded by the
houses, so they are not able to walk away and be completely wild again. They
felt happy enough to produce quite some offspring and now we have around 10
hedgehogs in our block. They keep our gardens free from slugs and snails and
quite a few of us feed them at night (catfood). In winter they enjoy a good
long sleep of about 3 months and every spring I'm happy to see them again.
They show no interest in the bunnies, and vice versa, the bunnies are
completely unimpressed with them. Even Hendrik, who is a great deal smaller
than the rexes, just walks past them! AlmaMater has tried their food
though... (she will eat anything that doesn't move). She loves the dry
catfood, but will shake her head at the tinned variety... fortunately!

Is your hedgie a dwarf variety? I once followed the Numo's weblog, that tiny
albino hedgehog, do you know it?

Numo's human lives about 6 blocks from me, bur I never actually met her.
I thought it would be weird to call and say "Hi - I'm a total stranger
but I've been reading about your hedgehog in the internet.."

Wendy, Numo's human would probably be delighted to meet someone who had been
reading about her hedgehog. She wouldn't have put it on the internet if she
didn't want people to know about it.

Els, i love your pictures.. you are lucky your bunnies get to live
outside.. Certainly not in the northeast here...

Very cute bunnies and hedghogs.  I have a picture of domino on
bunspace with 'see through ears"... when he is in his litterbox. the
sun shines on him.. I wish i could have  a place outside for him.. not
around here though.

Love that rex fur!  And I love to bury my nose in Hershey's head or
back to smell it!

Hi

Hedgehogs are notorious for having fleas. Don't the rabbits get them?
