Hi Marylee,
Oxbowhay is a good company. I got hay from them for a few years, and Cocoa
only ate their Bunny Basics T timothy pellets for over half his life..
www.oxbowhay.com They are in Nebraska.
There are also these hay places that are good from what I've heard
http://www.alfalfaking.com/index.htm They are in Nevada
http://www.kmshayloft.com/index.html they have timothy hay, but I see they
mention that their pellets are for guinea pigs. From what I understand
rabbit and guinea pigs have different nutritional needs. I've heard their
hay is decent though. They are in WA
If you check out this hay exchange site, you might find some good hay in
your own area or not too far away.
http://www.hayexchange.com/index.html Farmers list their hay online here.
There are a lot more hay listings online now, so you could do a search as
well.
I know other people here use various pellet brands, but I always liked
Oxbow. Just remember, if you're going to switch feeds to do it gradually
over a couple of weeks.

I use Oxbow exclusively.
I prefer to order online as their telephone reps sometimes get the order
screwed up!
We just opened a 50-lb. box of timothy hay that is just plain BEAUTIFUL.
With 4 full-sized rabbits here, I order one 50-lb timothy and one 50-lb
orchard grass. The shipping (which is outrageously expensive) is
cheaper that way.
I gave 25-lb. boxes for the holidays to bun friends.
It IS expensive to get it this way--but it is SO worth it in terms of
preserving the buns' health.
They do not get many pellets anymore, just as a treat (Dr. Stanzione's
suggestion), but when they do, they are Oxbox Bunny Basic T (timothy-based).
Good luck, Marylee.

It would be helpful if you use a $ figure instead of expensive.

Marylee - I get my pellets from Sweet Meadow Farms. They are out of
MA. They donate food & hay to the rescue we got Thelma & Louise from.
That's how we got hooked up with them.

I used to order from Oxbow but tried BunnyBales.com and I've been really
pleased with the result - VERY green and leafy!

In addition to Oxbow we order from Sweet Meadow - good hay and
pellets. http://www.sweetmeadowfarm.com/index.html
I haven't ordered from American Pet Diner, but I hear they have great
stuff - did get their hay once and the buns loved it, but the shipping
is much higher than Oxbow or Sweet Meadow. http://www.americanpetdiner.com/
finally the buns love the hay from Farmer Dave: http://www.farmerdave.biz/servlet/StoreFront

Thanks again for the great ideas. This bun is so different than my
other two in the past. He is a devilbun, so full of fun, life and
energy. Right now he is sitting in his litterbox., lazilly munching
on hay and taking a quick nap at the same time.
I use carefresh litter and put most of the hay on one side of the
box.. and some sacattered throughout.. He loves his hay!!!!!
YAYYYYYYYY.
Every once in awhile he jumps out and does some binkys. Now he is
under the bed...... I have to work at 11pm tonight. so i have a pillow
on the rug so i can sit down and pet him. Right now I'm up on the
bed.. and i can see my pillow on the rug move.. Domino is under my bed
rearranging my pillow.. It must not be in the right spot for him.
