Dear folks;
I'm deeply saddened to tell you that my darling bambino Neutrino died this
evening at about 7:35 P.M. MDT (02:35 Universal). He had been getting
steadily more feeble recently and he had a few fits where he kept falling to
the left. This morning, I had found that he had wet twice on the carpet
runner. I put it in the wash and he hid in his cardboard house all day. I
checked on him at supper and he had wet inside his house, something he never
did before. He also had some cecals stuck to his feet and butt. After
supper, I gave him a butt bath and wrapped him in an old undershirt to dry
him off. Then, I noticed he could barely move so I put him in his litter
which I had recently changed. I was working on some e-mails an hour later
when I heard thrashing from the kitchen. I came in to find Neutrino laying
on his left side with his legs still twitching a bit. His struggles grew
weaker until his paws stopped moving. He was limp when I picked him up and
I heard no heart beat in his chest. I realized that his days of cute
mischief and tooth purs were ended.
I adopted Neutrino on September 30, 2001 from a breeder who had been given
him by some people who were tired of having a bunny. Neutrino went through
3 families in as many years and the large rabbits in the hutch bit his back
up so badly that he required stitches. Of course, this man let Neutrino
suffer and risk getting absesses for 3 weeks before I got him. I gave
Neutrino about 82 months of happiness. He was over 10 years old when he
passed away. I'll miss this last of the rabbits written about in my first
book. I have a special rabbit-shaped white candle which I'll light in his
honour. Neutrino will be greatly missed.
Sincerely,
Bruce Atchison - author of Deliverance from Jericho (Six Years in a Blind
School) and When a Man Loves a Rabbit ((Learning and Living With Bunnies).

Oh Bruce, I'm deeply saddened to read that Neutrino made his journey
to The Bridge to join many of our APR buns. I'm happy he did find you
and you gave him a loving forever home. I'll say a special prayer for
both of you tonight.

Dear Bruce,
How sad for you, but dear Neutrino finally landed in a loving home and
you gave him 82 months of love and attention. What a lucky bunny!
Maybe you can take heart that he is now at the bridge, playing with
the other buns who left us too soon.
Please take care, Martha
