When Zolo was away at Dr. Stanzione's and was unable to demonstrate his
dominance during feeding, Wizard decided that he could step into Zolo's
number two spot. For whatever reason, I have the feeling that Zolo's
close brush with death has left him with a strong fighting will to
live. He's now able to bite through carrot with his front teeth, so I
suppose he's 90% healed. At the last feeding of Critical Care,
Saturday, he literally charged the syringe and sucked everything down.
Zolo's fighting spirit has been incredible and has greatly impressed
me. When it comes to guts, he beats me paws down. He's 2 1/2 pounds of
ferocious life. Since his ordeal he's actually showed a lot of
sweetness. Jump has always groomed and licked my legs, but yesterday
when Jump licked my left leg, Zolo came over and licked my right leg.
He comes for pets more often.
If Wizard was getting an upper hand over tiny Zolo, I would probably
have worried. But Zolo truly follows in the footsteps of Jump and has a
gentle mind. Still, he would still not allow Wizard to push him out of
his rightful heritage, and by the end of last night, I could tell that
Wizard realized this (just for you skeptics out there, yeah, rabbits do
realize things). This morning, Wizard was vanquished to sit under the
kitchen table while Zolo snuggled with Jump. However, this evening,
when I let the boys out to play in "The Carrot Village", I saw zero
hostility. The two boys played in The Village. Incidentally, Jump has
not been this active in a few years. He loves The Carrot Village. They
played for about an hour. I gave them extra treats and they sat as
usual in the kitchen while the humans ate supper. When we finished,
they lined up to go home and I kept a special eye on the two boys to see
what they were doing. I caught Wizard and Zolo snuggling like lovers
who had just made up after a fight. Jump, comfortable in his own skin,
sat upstairs in the penthouse, while the two boys snuggled on the
mezzanine. Back to back and belly to belly, they are still snuggling as
we speak. What more can I say? I'm impressed.
P.S. Wizard got to snuggle with Jump during supper.

Aww, that all sounds so sweet.
Isn't it a nice feeling to know you've made their lives more interesting and
fun? I'm glad they're enjoying their Carrot Village so much, and that they
are getting on so well.

Professor, thank you for the updates, I enjoy reading them. My
Domino has settled in nicely and we are on a regular routine. He is
already spoiled rotten. I wish i had a buddy for him.. but I am his
buddy. I am able to give him tons of time and affection.. He just
loves his cheek rubs. Soon i have to take him in for his firts vet
appt. and to have his nails cut.. (of coarse i cant do that.).... I
have yet to pick him up.. but i lay on the rug and snuggle with him.
and he loves to binky all over the place... so proud of himself..

Well, I really let things get out of hand. The setup is about eight or
nine feet long! But at least Zolo thinks The Hidden Village is cool,
and more fun than going under the Lazyboy. (Thank you for that!) The
Jump really stands up for his village. This is a great photo of the set
up. http://good-times.webshots.com/photo/2745564460042966404vGqdMV
