Here's a great site with videos from National Geographic of American
Jack Rabbits. You just have to put up with short advertisement before
the rabbit video.

A righteous man has regard for the life of his animal,
But even the compassion of the wicked is cruel.

Hi

Google for 'Spring Hare'.
You get to another rabbit like (or perhaps I should say kangaroo like)
animal.
http://www.wonderclub.com/Wildlife/mammals/spring_hare.html

They live in East Africa but only come out at night so are rarely seen. I've
only seen them once, when we were camping in the bush.

We didn't have rabbits in Kenya. They were all conventional hares.

Just thought you might like to know!
