Perhaps she is bored. Have you tried giving her a newpaper to read?

Sorry, but I think you're being a bit daft. Where on Earth is a rat
going to get a decent newspaper to read on a Sunday?

Well, without a decent newspaper, no wonder she's reduced to grinding her
teeth instead.

Well our Sunday Sun in Toronto has a pretty good crossword. She'd have to be
positively constipated to get through it all in one sitting.

I'm a newcomer to the newsgroup -I've been happily owned by rats for almost
two years now and they are my babies!  Me and my husband both laughed so
hard at the responses for "poo problem".  I have never seen my rats brux,
but this afternoon during playtime, my rat climbed into the litter box and
became motionless with squinted eyes, like he was concentrating...I never
noticed it before...

Tooth-grinding or bruxing is the equivalent of a cat purring, so I'd say
she really likes a good poo.

"Of what are you afraid, my child?" inquired the kindly teacher.
"Oh, sir! The flowers, they are wild," replied the timid creature.

But they also do it when nervous. Is the poo normal looking? (ie: firm
brown, not black or runny, or anything else yicky?). Is there plenty of
water and ratty food available (constipated??)? Also, check her vent area
for inflamation, and wee for unusual colouration.

If all seems fine, then I guess she does like a good poo.

Are you sure she's getting her fiber?
