Token had her teeth trimed yesterday and not she isn't eating.
She has trouble even eating cooked pasta (needs to be cut in small pieces).
We have been grinding her lab blocks up and mixing then with water.

Will this pass?

Teeth grow fast. If she's hurting then she may need to see a vet for proper
meds to help her. When her teeth were trimmed, was there a lot of blood?

Just some , the vet said the front teeth were just for picking stuff up.
We have been smashing her food up and she is eating so thing are looking up.

She still make snorting sounds and weezing but this stop if you talk to her.
tried 2 perceiption meds and one drop of Benadril but no difference
I'm lost.

What?!  Rodent means "to chew" in Latin.  The front teeth will grow as much
as two inches a year if they don't chew and brux.  I guess the good news is
that they will grow back quickly.  Is there any possibility that you may
have misunderstood the vet?  It seems odd that a vet would miss something
that the rest of us learn on the Discovery Channel.

Mmm.. rats do use their front teeth a lot to chew and tear and for
everything...
If you want to try the benadril for nasal congestion, try giving more than
just a drop. I believe 1cc may work.

Yes it will pass.  I had my girls done a few months back and Lucy had hers
trimmed just a bit too low and she didn't want to eat either.  I had to soak
her lab blocks for about a week or so and then she started up on her own
again.

May I ask WHY you even needed to have the teeth trimmed?  usually you don't
have to trim ratties teeth if they have enough hard things to chew on.

I was told it's not necessary.  But I get my girls done as a precaution, but
only because I work at a vet clinic and so it's easy and free.  However I
have seen the odd rat with teeth that grow out of control and needing
trimming every 10 days!!!

Well, I have just found a really good way of keeping their teeth ground
down, well, for this season anyway, give them hazel nuts in their shell's. I
gave them one each the other night, and it was hysterical, talk about
crunching sounds. It took one under 20 mins to get the nut out. Then he
chased the others around to get theirs. In a couple of days I'm going to try
a Walnut, see if they can get into one of those.

almonds....you should try the brazil nuts....THOSE are really loud!!  Your
right, it is funny!

The Vet said they were too long and I thought it may help with her breathing
attacks. She is real lazy about chewing.
If it dosn't taste good right off she won't even try. (spoiled) We have
spent money on all types of chew toys but mostly she likes shreding bath
towels that we use to cover her cage top.

lol, mine's like that too :-)

Have you tried giving her one that you've 'started'?  She'll be able to
smell the gorgeous food inside and be able to get at it easier.  Then give
her a normal one to do propperly.  It can be really funny - try giving her
an egg!
