I have just read a post on another group, that somebody from the USA has
found a warning on the packaging on the side of the Original Carefresh that
says it may cause blockaging in the intestines of some small rodents.
Has anybody else seen this warning?

I live in the u.k., and I use carefresh for all my animals (mainly my
rabbits for their litter tray, but the gerbils and hamsters like a dig
around in it too) I have the one that says "Carefresh pet bedding" and I
just read all of it, and it says nothing about causing intestinal
blockages. Keep me posted if you hear anymore, I would want to know if it
may be dangerous.

hi, I use carefresh (I'm in the US) and I just read the back of my bag. it
mentions in each paragraph for each type of animal, that it will pass
through safely if consumed in small quantities, but vet help should be
sought if consumed in large quantities. I think blockage is a possibility
with any type of bedding. I personally have yet to experience any such
problems with it:)

Nope.
I've been using it for several years.

No problems here. I think I remember seeing that warning somewhere and
getting nervous about it too, but I've had my mice in it for 2 years (you
don't get much smaller of a rodent than that) and my ratties have used it
for 6 months and I've never had a problem, nor have I ever seen them trying
to eat it. LOL! Now if I could only get the rats to stop sampling the dust
bunnies they find in corners...

Used Carefresh for 9 years without incident for hamsters, rats and mice.
None of my rodents ever consumed it or died of blockages! It's sold
as cat litter, and some cats do eat strange substances.
