I am curious as to wether my boys can see the colour Red and if they can
if they see it properly?  I gave them some watered down Cranberry Juice
and although they loved it they would continually stand in it.  None of
them seemed to be able to lap at it like they do with their water??? It
was as if they couldn;t see it or judge where it was..? I haven't seen
them standing in their water bowl carrying on like this  ..  It  seems a
strange thing for them to be doing.  Oh well,.. they all have delightful
pink feet up to their ankles now..LOL

That's so funny... on this site: http://www.ratbehavior.org/RatVision.htm it
is said that rats can see greens and blues.  They can also see UV lighting
which we cannot. If you go on that site, there's a link to go and see
flowers in UV lighting, it's amazing. As for red, it's said that the rat
probably only sees it as a darker shade. But in the end, vision is still not
all that important to rats.

Wait....yours don't stand in the water bowl?!  Hmm...maybe your ratties
should talk to my ratties because that's all that they ever do....well, that
and dump the water out of the bowl!

Nope funnily enough they don;t stand in their water..:))  They perch on
the edge of it and drink it or wash in it.  Thanks for that link
Joanne..:)  I will check it out.  I realise that they live by their
noses, but they were quite frantic trying to find the cranberry, they
could smell it but not seem to find it?  Really wierd behaviour.  I
think I have some of the strangest Rodents God ever put breath into..LOL
 Bless their furry britches.
