We have a stethoscope in the house, left over from a relative who is a
nurse. So this week I got it out and listened to my heart (75 bpm), and
just for kicks I listed to the cats' heart (approx. 175 bpm), and then for a
REAL thrill I listed to a rattie heart. WOW!!! There was NO WAY I could
count it, but the internet says mean of about 300 bpm. No wonder they're so
warm. :-)

Lol... yes, I have my own stethoscope. I like to check their lungs once
in a while to make sure they are still clear.
It certainly is amazingly fast, those sweet little hearts. :)

I saw my doctor today for a checkup and we got to talking about listening to
heartbeats and how fast they are. I told her I listened to my rats with a
stethoscope and you should have seen her face! She had a good laugh and
said, "I bet that was faster than yours". I'll say.

Kinda wonder about the hearts of smaller animals,
Im sure all animals have, them like ants, birds and worms?
smaller they are, the faster they would beat i assume
