chicken bones

As another question can they really be fed with the above?

Yes, rats can gnaw on chicken bones and they especially like rib bones
too. lol
But, I should mention that once, my sister's rat choked on the white
hard stuff left on the end of the bone. Prin was ok after a while but it
sure scared us.

My Boys love getting the odd Chicken bone, I make sure that they don't
get any of the fine ones though..:)

Yep, mine would rip your fingers off for a chicken bone.  ;-)  But then,
what would the need be for the chicken bone.  Of course I'm kidding and
they're not really that vicious, but they do love the bones.

After we've used the remains of the chicken carcass to make stock, I cool
down the "remains", and pick out some choice bones for them - the fact that
they've been boiled up doesn't seem to make them any less appealing.

The bones they usually get are the broad bones from the legs and thighs -
we avoid the small thin sharp bones and bones with knobbly bits on them.

I guess they can, although I've only given them chicken meat (no bones). But
not too often, because many dry food mixes for rats already contain all the
proteine they need.
