They are very cheap and come in 8' x 4' sheets. I cut them down to what I need and tie wrap them together. It's very efficient!!

I thought I would share some fun!! [quoted text clipped - 3 lines] > Joanne > Owned by 14 rats Every rat owner should know that rats love to go in the water if they have control of the situation & are exposed to the possibilities when young. When they spend their lives drinking exclusively from hanging bottles, they don't necesarily learn what standing water is; or if they are forced against their control to be in a sink ir tyb, it can appear that rats hate & are frightened by water. But familiarity causes fondness. I remember the story of someone who went into their kitchen one night, & when the center light was suddenly turned on, there was a family of rats splashing & playing in the dog's waterbowl.

[quoted text clipped - 3 lines] > Joanne > Owned by 14 rats OMG they are drenched LOL. They look absolutely adorable. GMRS cranking in about now .... Did you give them a bubble bath of some sort? I was considering getting Johnsons Baby Bath which is what I use to bathe the kids in when they were babies. I was thinking it would save the stress of being lifted out of the water, soaped up and then put back in to rinse off. What do you think about that idea?

Vanessa, while they were all in the water, I had a hard time distinguishing between between the agoutis, the blacks and the minks. lol But yes, Little dumbo black and white looks identical to their alleged dad. lol

Probably so, but do you think it will clean them significantly better than plain water would? How do you think it would work on you if you swished your head in bubble bath water vs. shampooing & rinsing?
Come to think of it, does it even work on bare skin?

So I can safely say "Yes they were clean". That aside, I bathe my guys more for pleasure especially the old guys, the warmth and the weightlessness would feel pretty good. IF my boys are that filthy.. I would shampoo then redunk. To date I have only had a couple of marinaters who obviously didn't have a great sense of smell..LOL. Rats by nature are clean creatures. :)

[quoted text clipped - 8 lines] > > Tracey Hi Tracey, nope, I just added the bunny shampoo and let them get wet in it. After about 15 minutes, I took them out and dried them really good. I think they really like the rub down for drying, they would just stay there in my towel.
I transported the rats into the bathroom with a very small cage. After I set the cage down near the bathroom door. After I dried each one, I just set them down so they could have a run of the bathroom but when I turned around, I found them all gathered inside the tiny cage. LOL

Sue Schultz - 21 Oct 2005 19:07 GMT I hate to say this but "my gang" now consists of 2 boy ratties! We had a bad summer with believe it or not, the "babies" getting old....they are all going on three now..just recently lost the daddy. I guess that's the downfall of having so many rats the same age. I'm glad to see that all of yours look happy and healthy!

Sue Schultz - 23 Oct 2005 03:17 GMT Since I wrote that email.....I'm down to ONE. I lost the runt of the litter. I thought he would have been one of the first to go. He had bad bad teeth. Besides having extra ones, they were so mis-aligned. I took him to the vet once to get them clipped but they grew so fast that I learned to do it myself. He was alway skin and bones. Although he seemed to be eating all the time, I don't think he got alot. Now he is out of his pain. His teeth are now normal and he's nice and plump living at the bridge!
Sue Owned by ONE loney boy.
