I just noticed a lump in pinks leg. It's a bit close to her mammary glands.
Can rats get mastitis?

Hi Butterfly,
I don't know if rats can get mastitis but i am guessing if the lump has come
up quickly and it is around the mammaries the chances are it could be a
tumour. The trouble with rats is that they can come up with all kinds of
lumps and bumps so you really need to see your vet.

We try and have a regular Lumps and bumps check with our gang as these
things seen to appear rapidly.  If its something nasty then if you can ID it
early there's a good chance of successful surgery.

Hi butterfly... rats get lots of lumps especially mammary tumors. Mammary
tumors grow quite rapidly. If you want it removed you will need to get Pink
to the vet as soon as possible. Pink has a better chance if the lump removal
is during it's small phase.
Good luck!
